Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist

job summary:
Join a top-tier global pharma leader in Redmond, WA as a Senior EHS Coordinator. This on-site contract role (6-12 months, M-F 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM) is ideal for a proactive safety professional dedicated to driving environmental health and safety compliance, hazard mitigation, and workplace wellness.

responsibilities:

• Implement and monitor site EHS programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.
• Conduct periodic safety inspections, manage safety equipment inventory, and oversee hazardous waste removal vendors.
• Lead engaging EHS training sessions, including emergency response and hazardous material handling, across multiple departments.
• Identify high-risk workplace hazards, recommend corrective action plans, and support industrial health compliance.
• Assist with worker's compensation administration and implement site-wide workplace ergonomics solutions.

 
qualifications:
Required:

• Bachelor's degree OR Associate degree plus 3 years of EHS experience.
• OSHA training credentials.
• Proven track record of identifying risk, preventing injuries/illness, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Strong communication, training, and cross-functional leadership skills without direct authority.

Preferred:

• Background in risk management, global EHS programs, laboratory safety, operations, or construction safety.
• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA, and state regulations.
• Expertise in root cause analysis, data analysis, and reporting.
