We are looking for an experienced Director of Casino Accounting to lead core finance operations for a dynamic gaming and hospitality environment in Las Vegas, Nevada. This role oversees casino accounting, audit, soft count, and record retention activities while ensuring accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and full regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate brings deep casino finance expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to improve processes while supporting timely close and tax-related reporting.

Responsibilities:
• Lead the casino accounting, audit, soft count, and record retention functions, providing direction on staffing, performance management, daily execution, and regulatory adherence.
• Guide the administration of casino revenue policies, accounting procedures, and audit practices to support accurate revenue recognition and consistent financial controls.
• Oversee compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements related to gaming taxes, reporting obligations, and operational standards.
• Monitor the accuracy of casino revenue reporting by reviewing audit results, validating accounting outputs, and addressing discrepancies promptly.
• Supervise casino cash handling activities, including the review of variances and the coordination of investigations into overages, shortages, or irregularities.
• Analyze daily operating results to identify unusual trends or control gaps and communicate practical recommendations for improvement to leadership.
• Prepare, review, and distribute daily internal financial reporting to ensure stakeholders receive timely and reliable operational information.
• Maintain and strengthen internal control standards by updating procedures, supporting audit readiness, and partnering with internal and external auditors as well as gaming regulators.
• Support the month-end close process and help ensure gaming and entertainment tax filings and remittances are completed accurately and on schedule.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 3 years in casino accounting or casino audit.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing accounting or audit teams within a gaming, hospitality, or similarly complex operating environment.
• Hands-on background in financial reporting, month-end close activities, and financial statement audit support.
• Knowledge of gaming regulations, internal controls, cash management practices, and revenue accounting principles.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint; experience with tools such as BlackLine is advantageous.
• CPA designation or progress toward certification is preferred, along with strong written and verbal communication skills.
