Job Description

As a Production Worker, you start as a Production Specialist I and play a key role in refurbishing and preparing propane tanks for reuse. You work on a fast-paced production line handling physical tasks such as palletizing, cleaning, and preparing tanks, ensuring they are ready for safe and efficient operation.

Responsibilities

• Palletize propane tanks and related materials in an organized and safe manner.
• Desleeve propane tanks by removing outer coverings and packaging materials.
• Hang and unhang propane tanks on production lines or racks as part of the refurbishing process.
• Cap valves on propane tanks to ensure proper closure and preparation for refilling.
• Scrape off paint, stickers, and residue from propane tanks to prepare them for refurbishing.
• Perform general production and labor tasks as directed to support overall workflow.
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines while working with propane tanks and production equipment.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area despite working with dirty or greasy tanks.

Essential Skills

• Ability to perform physically demanding general labor and production tasks for extended periods.
• Comfort working with dirty and greasy propane tanks in a hands-on environment.
• Capability to safely palletize, hang, and unhang propane tanks on production equipment.
• Attention to detail when desleeving tanks, scraping off paint and stickers, and capping valves.
• Reliability to work scheduled shifts Monday through Thursday on either first or second shift.
• No formal education required; willingness to learn on the job and follow instructions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Channahon, IL.

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $19.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Channahon,IL.
