This role ensures outsourced operations deliver against service, cost, quality, and compliance expectations while maintaining strong operational discipline and data integrity across the network.This leader serves as the primary owner of 3PL execution, acting as the bridge between physical warehouse operations, system data, financial accuracy, and customer service outcomes. Success in this role requires strong operational leadership, deep understanding of warehouse and inventory processes, and the ability to enforce standards with external partners.Job DetailsKey Responsibilities3PL Performance & Vendor ManagementOwn day-to-day and strategic performance of all 3PL partners across warehousing and fulfillment operationsEstablish, track, and standardize KPIs across all 3PL sites, including service levels, cost performance, inventory accuracy, and productivityLead regular performance reviews, audits, and business reviews with 3PL leadershipEnsure compliance with contractual obligations and SLAs; drive corrective actions when performance falls shortServe as the primary escalation point for operational, service, or execution issues impacting customers or inventory integrityInventory Management & ControlEnsure accurate, timely, and consistent inventory execution across all 3PL-operated facilitiesOversee and enforce cycle count programs, physical inventories, reconciliation processes, and variance investigation standardsDrive root-cause analysis and corrective action for inventory discrepancies, shrink, damage, and lossMonitor inventory health, including aging, excess, damaged inventory, and disposition processesPartner closely with Planning and Finance to validate inventory levels, resolve discrepancies, and support financial close and audit readinessImprove inventory visibility, traceability, and system integrity across WMS, ERP, and reporting platformsOperational Execution & StandardizationDrive standardization of operating procedures, reporting, and workflows across all 3PL sitesEnsure consistent execution of inbounding, storage, picking, packing, and shipping processesLead root-cause analysis for operational failures and service defects and ensure timely corrective actionSupport capacity planning, peak readiness, and contingency planning in partnership with Transportation and Planning teamsData, Systems & ReportingEnsure accuracy and integrity of operational and inventory data provided by 3PL partnersValidate WMS and TMS outputs, reporting, and interfaces with internal systemsEstablish clear, executive-ready dashboards and reporting that highlight performance trends, risks, and unresolved issuesReduce reliance on manual workarounds and inconsistent reporting practices across the networkCross-Functional CollaborationPartner with Supply Chain Planning, Transportation, Customer Service, Finance, and Distribution teams to align on inventory flow, service expectations, and operational prioritiesTranslate operational realities into clear insights and recommendations for senior leadershipEnsure alignment between physical execution, system data, and customer-facing commitmentsContinuous ImprovementLead initiatives focused on improving service levels, cost efficiency, throughput, and operational disciplineDrive improvements in warehouse execution, inventory accuracy, and process complianceAdvance operational maturity through stronger governance, standard work, and accountability across 3PL partnersPromote a culture of ownership, transparency, and continuous improvementKey Performance IndicatorsOperational KPIsOrder accuracy and on-time shipment performanceCost per order / cost per unit shippedProductivity and throughput metricsDock-to-stock and cycle time performanceInventory & Compliance KPIsInventory accuracy and reconciliation performanceCycle count compliance and variance resolution timeShrink and loss ratesInventory aging and disposition cycle timeAudit results and corrective action closure rateQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field8–12+ years of experience in distribution, logistics, or 3PL managementProven experience managing outsourced warehousing or multi-site logistics networksStrong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control processes, and WMS/ERP systemsDemonstrated ability to hold external partners accountable to performance standardsStrong analytical, communication, and leadership skillsWillingness to travel regularly to 3PL sitesAgency Disclaimer:Black Rifle Coffee Company does not accept unsolicited resumes from staffing agencies, search firms, or third parties.
