We also partner with leading local hospitals to ensure coordinated care delivery for treatments that may require surgery or physical therapy.About the X-Ray Technician Role:Under the direction of the Physicians, the x-ray technician is responsible for using imaging machines to create images of patients for the Physicians' review. Their duties include explaining the x-ray procedures to patients, calibrating the equipment, and preparing the results of the x-ray.Responsibilities:Greet and attend to patient needs in person and over the phone.Follow instructions from Physicians regarding which area of the patient's body to x-rayTalk the patient through the procedure and answer their questionsCorrectly position the patient, adjust the imaging equipment to the specified positionPrevent unnecessary radiation exposure both to themselves and to the patientFollow correct techniques and procedures such as patient shieldingMaintain a safe and clean working environmentMaintain up to date knowledge of current radiology practices.Utilize purchasing and inventory management software as required for purchasing and ordering suppliesAssist with rooming and triaging patients, and other medical assistant duties as neededRequirements:1 year of Experience required; this can include internship experienceThe ability to operate and understand radiographic technology and equipmentA Maryland state license and certification to practicePrior experience in orthopedics and/or sports medicine preferredWorking knowledge of HIPAA regulationsExcellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.Employee Benefit Overview:Vacation time & Sick time9 paid major holidaysCareFirst medical coverageDental and Vision coverageVoluntary Life and Short-term Disability coverageTuition assistance for continued educationHealth Savings Account (HSA)Flexible Spending Account (FSA)401k Retirement PlanMileage Reimbursement
