Accounting & Business Operations Associate

Overview Bay Area Private Equity firm seeks an Accounting & Business Operations Associate to own the business operations/overhead side of the business in this catch-all generalist position. While this person must have an understanding of accounting, this will not be technical accounting or fund accounting in nature. Industry generalists at smaller firms are ideal, as are staff level fund admin or junior audit/tax candidates coming from public accounting that are looking for something a bit different outside of a pure accounting focused role. This role will do a bit of everything including management company accounting, managing vendors and AP workflows. Additional responsibilities include executing tasks to take much of the day-to-day work off of the senior leaders’ desks, working with bank portals for payments and wires, general administrative tasks related to annual meeting planning and travel, and other business operational tasks. The role may also assist with LP/investor relations, compliance filings, IT/technology and other miscellaneous ad hoc projects. The ideal candidate comes from a professional setting in asset management/VC/PE or tech where they have done many of the tasks listed above. Qualifications 2-5 years experience in business operations and accounting, ideally from an asset management firm, with an understanding of the industry vocabulary and culture. Someone who enjoys ambiguity and picking up and doing anything and everything needed. Excellent technology systems skills are required.
