Coastal Physical Therapy and Sports Rehabilitation - located in Thousand Oaks

Coastal Physical Therapy and Sports Rehabilitation is seeking a dependable, organized, and personable  Medical Front Desk and Billing Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service while assisting with front-office operations, insurance verification, billing, and payment collection.

Responsibilities include:

• Greeting patients and providing a welcoming front-office experience
• Answering phones and scheduling patient appointments
• Registering new patients and maintaining accurate demographic and insurance information
• Verifying insurance benefits and obtaining authorizations
• Collecting copayments, deductibles, and outstanding balances
• Posting patient and insurance payments
• Submitting insurance claims accurately and promptly
• Reviewing unpaid claims and following up on accounts receivable
• Researching claim denials and submitting corrections or appeals
• Communicating with patients and insurance companies regarding billing questions
• Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with HIPAA requirements
• Assisting with other administrative duties as needed

Qualifications:

• Prior reception, medical front-office, or billing experience preferred
• Physical therapy billing experience is highly desirable
• Knowledge of insurance verification, claim submission, payment posting, denials, and accounts receivable is a plus
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Professional, dependable, and comfortable working independently
• Basic computer skills and experience with medical practice-management software preferred

Compensation:

Starting pay is based on experience and ability to perform the position independently:

• $21–$22 per hour: Reception experience with little or no medical-billing experience
• $23–$25 per hour: Medical front-desk experience with some insurance or billing knowledge
• $25–$28 per hour: Experienced physical therapy or medical biller who can independently submit claims, post payments, resolve denials, and follow up on accounts receivable
