Primary Care Sports Medicine Physician (Spine Focused)

Northwell Orthopedics is seeking a Primary Care Sports Medicine Physician with a specialized interest in Spine care to join their newly established spine center in Manhattan, NY. This unique opportunity involves being part of a growing interdisciplinary practice focused on delivering comprehensive, non-operative musculoskeletal and spine care. The role emphasizes conservative treatment, appropriate imaging utilization, care coordination, and timely referrals to specialists.Practice InfoJoin a newly established spine center in Manhattan, NY.Be part of a growing interdisciplinary practice.Focus on comprehensive, non-operative musculoskeletal and spine care.Work within a multidisciplinary healthcare team including anesthesiologists, nurses, radiologists, and rehabilitation specialists.ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive, non-operative evaluation and management of patients with cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine conditions.Serve as a front-line spine specialist.Perform comprehensive musculoskeletal and neurologic examinations.Identify and appropriately triage spine red flags (e.G., cauda equina, myelopathy, infection, malignancy).Develop and manage individualized, evidence-based, non-operative treatment plans.Evaluate and manage patients with spine-related conditions, including acute and chronic neck and low back pain, cervical and lumbar radiculopathy, degenerative disc disease and spondylosis, spinal stenosis (non-operative), and sports-related and work-related spine injuries.CompensationSalary: Commensurate with Experience.Full-time clinical base compensation at Northwell Health ranges from $125,000 to $750,000, which is impacted by various factors, including but not limited to physician specialty, level of experience, quality of care, academic accomplishments, patient experience and productivity.Shift & ScheduleFull TimeRequirementsMD or DO from an accredited medical school.Completion of an ACGME-accredited Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship.Board Certified/Board Eligible in a Primary Care field.Must be licensed or eligible to be licensed as a physician in the State of New York.
