Linguist Opportunity

Immediate need for a talented Linguist. This is a 06+months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Burlingame, CA (Hybrid). Job ID:26-29590 Pay Range: $40 - $47/hour. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide linguistic expertise while delivering data for large language models
• Collaborate with other linguists and data operations teams in data collection, data curation, and annotation efforts
• Evaluate and curate data sets for ML models using LLM solutions
• Assess model performance and data quality
• Engage in prompt engineering
• Create guidelines to support labeling projects for consistent language data annotation
• Develop complex and consistent linguistic analyses collaboratively

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Master's or PhD in Linguistics, language technologies, computational linguistics, or related field
• Experience with machine learning frameworks, NLP Libraries, and Tools
• 4-5 years of experience working in a Linguist role
• Conversational assistant, ML Support, LLMs
• Bachelor's degree in general Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, or related field
• Experience with regular expression encoding
• Knowledge of syntax, semantics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, corpus linguistics, and other areas of linguistics
• Proficiency in Python
• Experience with database queries and data analysis processes (i.e. SQL, spreadsheets)
• Experience working with speech and text data
• Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and their applications
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, dynamic work environment
• Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
