Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Application Window Open date: July 1, 2025 Most recent review date: Monday, Oct 13, 2025 at 11:59 pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Tuesday, Jun 30, 2026 at 11:59 pm (Pacific Time) Position Overview The Department of Urology at the University of California, Los Angeles anticipates openings for ambitious independent Ph.D. researchers in various divisions, ranging from Assistant Project Scientist to Associate or Full rank, depending on qualifications. Responsibilities Perform independent research under the direction of the Principal Investigator. Supervise graduate and undergraduate student researchers. Prepare manuscripts for publication in scientific journals. Assist in the preparation of grant proposals. Additional Duties Manage multiple projects efficiently and independently. Communicate effectively with collaborators worldwide. Report directly to the Principal Investigator and carry out experiments and data analysis with minimal supervision. Maintain laboratory equipment and assist in training personnel in data analysis. Engage in small animal surgical procedures and other specific laboratory techniques as required. Requirements Ph.D. in a relevant field. Minimum 5 years of postdoctoral or equivalent research experience in an academic setting. Experience with small animal surgical procedures is preferred. Strong publication record in top-tier scientific journals. Demonstrated ability to design and execute sophisticated laboratory experiments. Benefits and Compensation Salary range: $74,700 – $143,200, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Membership in the Basic Sciences compensation plan provides eligibility for additional compensation.
