Claims Advocate
CIA - Commercial Insurance Associates
Overview The Claims Advocate is responsible for directing and supporting initiatives related to the evaluation, processing, and handling of insurance claims. Responsibilities Set up new claims in the agency management system (EPIC). Record, track and maintain claim files for clients, ensuring timely payments, coverage decisions and addressing disputes from insureds and claimants. Collect, interpret, and distribute information from various sources related to the handling of claims. Communicate with insureds to secure claim information, discuss claim handling scenarios and potential obstacles prior to reporting claims. Coordinate with carriers, Producers, and insureds on claim review meetings. Assist Producers in coverage determinations. Generate special claims projects as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to manage urgent scenarios and maintain composure under pressure. Knowledge of coverage application from policies and order of coverage in claim filing scenarios. Ability to develop good working relationships and workflows with clients by providing prompt and accurate service. Strong analytical skills and the ability to analyze and organize data. Time management and the ability to meet deadlines. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask. Minimum Qualifications 2+ years of experience in commercial insurance, specifically P&C. Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as stellar interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills, recordkeeping, note-taking, and advanced typing. #J-18808-Ljbffr
