Job Description: BI Platform Administrator (Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, Spotfire)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced BI Platform Administrator to manage and optimize enterprise analytics platforms including Tableau Cloud, Qlik Cloud, Power BI Service, and Spotfire Server. This role is responsible for ensuring secure access, robust governance, high availability, and scalable analytics capabilities across the organization, including support for regulated (GxP) environments.

Key Responsibilities
1. Platform Administration

• Administer and maintain BI platforms: Tableau Cloud, Qlik Cloud, Power BI Service, and Spotfire Server.
• Configure platform settings, security controls, performance tuning, and upgrades/patching.
• Manage Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations and identity providers (Azure AD / LDAP).
• Implement and maintain SCIM or automated user provisioning mechanisms.

2. User & Access Management

• Manage users and groups using Active Directory (AD) / Azure AD / LDAP.
• Implement role-based access control (RBAC) across all platforms.
• Assign appropriate platform roles (e.g., Viewer, Creator, Admin).
• Design and maintain group-based access structures for scalable governance.

3. Content & Workspace Governance

• Define and maintain content structures:
• Tableau Projects
• Qlik Spaces
• Power BI Workspaces
• Spotfire Libraries
• Set and enforce permissions for dashboards, datasets, and applications.
• Establish naming conventions, lifecycle policies, and publishing workflows.
• Promote governance practices such as certified datasets and controlled content publishing.

4. Data Refresh & Scheduling

• Configure and manage:
• Data extract refresh schedules
• Dataflows and reload tasks
• Subscriptions and alerts
• Monitor refresh performance and resolve failures proactively.

5. Monitoring & Performance Optimization

• Track platform usage, adoption, and performance using built-in tools:
• Tableau Admin Views
• Qlik Analyzer Apps
• Power BI Admin & Audit Logs
• Spotfire diagnostics and logs
• Optimize system performance, query efficiency, and capacity utilization.
• Proactively identify and resolve system issues

6. License & Capacity Management

• Monitor and manage license allocation across all BI platforms.
• Optimize license utilization and cost efficiency.
• Track storage, compute, and capacity usage (Power BI Premium, Qlik capacity, etc.).

7. GxP Compliance & Audit Support

• Implement controls to support GxP-compliant analytics environments.
• Maintain audit trails, access logs, and version control.
• Document validation processes, configurations, and workflows.
• Collaborate with Quality and Compliance teams for audits and inspections.

8. Data Connectivity & Integration

• Manage secure connections to databases, files, and cloud data sources.
• Ensure proper credential handling and data access governance.
• Support enterprise data integration and analytics workflows.

9. Migration & Release Management (Spotfire / Cross-Platform)

• Manage migration of content from development to production environments.
• Validate dependencies, permissions, and data integrity during releases.
• Implement version control and rollback mechanisms

Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills

• Hands-on experience with:
• Tableau Cloud / Server
• Qlik Sense / Qlik Cloud
• Power BI Service & Admin Portal
• TIBCO Spotfire Server
• Strong knowledge of:
• Azure AD / LDAP / SSO / SAML
• SCIM provisioning
• RBAC and data security best practices
• Experience with monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity management.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in GxP regulated environments.
