Zane Construction is seeking an experienced Traveling Heavy Civil Construction Supervisor to join our growing team. This is a hands-on field leadership position responsible for overseeing and executing heavy civil construction projects throughout the Northeast.

This is a traveling position. Candidates must be willing and able to travel to project sites throughout the Northeast as new projects are awarded.

We are looking for a strong field leader with extensive heavy civil construction experience who can effectively manage crews, coordinate day-to-day site operations, and work alongside the team when needed. The ideal candidate is organized, safety-focused, dependable, and comfortable taking ownership of a project from mobilization through completion.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage heavy civil construction projects from mobilization through completion
• Lead, coordinate, and oversee field crews, subcontractors, operators, and laborers
• Maintain daily production goals and ensure projects remain on schedule
• Work alongside field crews when necessary to keep projects moving
• Coordinate equipment, materials, manpower, and site logistics
• Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, specifications, and site drawings
• Oversee sitework operations including excavation, grading, earthwork, drainage, utilities, road construction, and related heavy civil scopes
• Monitor jobsite productivity and identify potential delays or issues before they impact the project
• Maintain quality control and ensure work meets project specifications and company standards
• Enforce company and OSHA safety requirements
• Complete and maintain required daily reports, documentation, and project updates
• Communicate regularly with Project Managers and company leadership regarding progress, scheduling, manpower, and project needs
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and other project stakeholders
• Assist with problem-solving and field decisions to keep projects operating efficiently
• Maintain accountability for jobsite equipment, materials, and company resources

Qualifications

• Proven experience supervising heavy civil construction projects
• Strong background in excavation, grading, earthwork, site development, utilities, or similar heavy civil construction
• Ability to effectively lead and manage construction crews
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and field operations
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
• Knowledge of construction equipment and heavy civil operations
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
• Ability to prioritize and make decisions in a fast-paced field environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the Northeast
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• OSHA 30 certification required

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $125,000–$165,000 per year, depending on experience
