Outpatient clinics and programs are located in Rome, NY, Herkimer, NY, and Utica, NY.As a Psychiatrist at MVPC, you will provide comprehensive, patient centered, and recovery focused treatments to individuals with mental illness 18 year of age or older; including:• Conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments and patient admissions• Creating treatment plans including medication management• Obtaining and reviewing appropriate laboratory tests and consulting with members of treatment team as needed• Providing individual and group psychotherapyAbout MVPC:MVPC is a community-based psychiatric center providing behavioral health services to children and adolescents. Located in Utica, NY, MVPC Children and Youth services provide inpatient care in a youth friendly and safe setting. Family participation plays a large role in treatment and recovery plans. MVPC offers community-based clinic programs in Utica, Rome, and Herkimer for individuals 18 years and older. Outpatient treatment focuses on strength-based and person-centered approaches to recovery. Minimum Qualifications : Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (HELPS) program if they have:Psychiatrist 1: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and completion of a training program in psychiatry approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).Psychiatrist 2: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and certification in psychiatry approved by the ABPN.ORCandidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
