Job Title: Stator Winder Insulator Job Description

The Stator Winder Insulator winds, tapes, and insulates coils for stators used in motors and generators, following established methods, procedures, and specifications. This role prepares and applies insulation materials, uses hand and power tools, and completes daily and weekly total productive maintenance (TPM) tasks with accuracy and consistency. The position requires 5,000 hours of experience to perform the work proficiently and may include other related duties within the same salary grade or below as assigned by supervision.

• Wind, tape, and insulate coils for stators used in motors and generators according to specifications.
• Prepare insulation materials as required for each job.
• Follow methods, procedures, and work instructions as outlined in specifications and documentation.
• Use hand tools and power tools to perform winding and insulation tasks safely and efficiently.
• Complete daily and weekly TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) tasks with accuracy and consistency.
• Read and interpret blueprints, insulation diagrams, and work instructions to determine work requirements.
• Apply insulation materials such as slot liners, phase paper, wedges, and tapes to stator cores and windings.
• Cut, shape, and install insulation components using hand tools and specialized equipment.
• Ensure proper fit and alignment of insulation to prevent electrical shorts and mechanical wear.
• Inspect insulation work for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation of materials used and work completed.
• Collaborate with winding and hookup teams to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality output.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Perform other related duties within the same salary grade or below as designated by the supervisor.

• Minimum of 5,000 hours of experience in stator winding, insulation, or closely related work to perform duties proficiently.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, insulation diagrams, and work instructions.
• Skill in applying insulation materials such as slot liners, phase paper, wedges, and tapes to stator cores and windings.
• Ability to use hand tools and specialized equipment to cut, shape, and install insulation components.
• Capability to ensure proper fit and alignment of insulation to prevent electrical shorts and mechanical wear.
• Experience using hand and power tools in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to inspect work for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation of materials used and work performed.
• Willingness and ability to follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Capability to complete daily and weekly TPM tasks consistently and accurately.
• Ability to work effectively under normal supervision and within a team environment.

• Experience in general labor, assembly, mechanical work, or production environments.
• Familiarity with coil and stator manufacturing processes.
• Comfort working with CNC-driven equipment in a manufacturing setting.
• Willingness to complete training on CNC-driven machines to support advancement opportunities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with winding and hookup teams to support smooth workflow.
• Strong organizational skills to manage materials and documentation efficiently.

You will join a manufacturing environment that supports skill development, clear advancement paths, and hands-on experience with specialized equipment. In the coil and stator manufacturing area, completion of 1,000 hours of training on a CNC-driven machine leads to promotion from Stator Winder Insulator B to Stator Winder Insulator A – Grade 4, providing a structured growth opportunity. The workplace emphasizes consistent processes, safety, and quality, offering stability and the chance to build deep technical expertise in stator winding and insulation.

This role is based in a production environment focused on coil and stator manufacturing, involving hands-on work with hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment for winding and insulation. Multiple shifts are available: 1st shift operates Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; 2nd shift operates Monday through Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.; and a 4th (weekend) shift operates Friday through Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Current needs include one position on 1st shift and three positions on 4th shift. The work requires standing, handling materials, and working around machinery in a typical industrial setting. Team members follow safety procedures, maintain clean and organized work areas, and perform daily and weekly TPM tasks to keep equipment and workstations in good condition.

This is a Permanent position based out of North Mankato, MN.

The pay range for this position is $49400.00 - $60792.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
