Position: Litigation Paralegal Location: New York, NY Employment Type: Full-time Position Overview The Litigation Paralegal will provide comprehensive support to attorneys throughout all phases of civil litigation, ensuring cases are managed efficiently and deadlines are met. This role involves close collaboration with attorneys, clients, and third parties to prepare and organize legal documents, manage discovery, and assist with trial preparation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Responsibilities Support attorneys throughout the lifecycle of litigation matters, from case intake through trial and post-trial proceedings. Prepare, review, organize, and file pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, exhibits, and other legal documents. Manage discovery, including document collection, review, production, subpoenas, and tracking of requests and responses. Assist with preparation for depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials, including exhibits, witness files, chronologies, and trial binders. Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, experts, vendors, and other third parties. Track case deadlines, court dates, discovery schedules, and other critical deadlines. Conduct legal and factual research and assist with case summaries, reports, and status updates. Maintain organized electronic and physical case files and confidential client information. Assist with settlement and mediation preparation and related documentation. Manage multiple litigation matters while prioritizing deadlines and attorney needs. Required Experience/Skills Approximately 5 years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal in a law firm or corporate legal environment. Strong knowledge of civil litigation, discovery, court filings, and case management. Experience supporting depositions, hearings, motions, and trial preparation. Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with legal case management or e-discovery platforms is a plus. Knowledge of NJ/NY state and federal court procedures. Preferred Experience/Skills Experience with complex commercial or civil litigation. Familiarity with electronic filing systems and e-discovery platforms. Strong legal research, problem-solving, and document-management skills. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate preferred. Education Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a related field or paralegal certificate preferred. Continuing education or training in litigation or paralegal studies is a plus.
