Clinical Laboratory Team Lead - Hematology

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Team Leader to join our team in Burlington, NC. Work Schedule Tuesdays to Saturdays, 12:30am–9:30am. Job Responsibilities Assisting the supervisor with the day‑to‑day operations of the department. Sending daily, weekly, and monthly production reports to management. Assisting with the training of new hires and the development of current employees. Keeping the supervisor informed of group progress, problems, employee performance, and any significant factors affecting assigned responsibilities. Determining the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria. Performing routine and complex technical procedures and functions in accordance with SOPs. Monitoring, operating, and troubleshooting instrumentation to ensure proper functionality. Preparing, testing, and evaluating new reagents or controls. Reporting accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care. Performing and documenting preventive maintenance and quality control procedures. Identifying and replenishing testing bench supplies as necessary. Assisting with specimen processing when needed. Maintaining a safe work environment and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology. Four or more years of clinical laboratory testing experience. Preferred Qualifications ASCP and/or AMT certifications. Six months or more supervising or leading a team. Additional Job Standards Non‑traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may satisfy educational requirements. Understanding of laboratory operations, policies, and procedures. Experience in a high‑volume laboratory environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems. High level of attention to detail with strong communication and organizational skills. Comfortable decision‑making in a changing environment. Ability to handle the physical demands of the position. Ability to pass a standardized color‑blindness test. Flexibility to work overtime or alternative shifts as needed.
