SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST II

Surgical Technologist Wausau, Wisconsin – Surgery Department (Orthopedics & General teams) The Surgical Technologist is responsible for planning and organizing supplies, instruments and equipment for surgical procedures. Promotes education of self, peers and students. Collaborates with all surgical team members to assure the safe and efficient passage of a patient through surgery. Responsible for activities that can interact with, collaborate with, cause, or result in an effect or consequence to or with other practitioners in the surgical environment. Hours Full Time; 0.8 FTE or 64 hours per pay period. Varied shifts; includes weekend/holiday/on-call rotation. Experience & Qualifications Knowledge of surgical standards and practices normally acquired through graduation from a surgical technologist program or related field and/or three or more years of related experience in the operating room. Graduate of a certified surgical technologist program required. Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist is beneficial. Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
