Sustainability Coordinator

Sustainability Programs Coordinator Peak Partners represents a government contractor supporting Prince George's County in advancing its sustainability initiatives. We are seeking an experienced Sustainability Programs Coordinator for a 1 year on site contract, who is passionate about environmental stewardship and creating meaningful change through education, policy, and program implementation. Working closely with the Program Manager, this individual will coordinate and manage a wide range of sustainability initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to influence district-wide sustainability efforts by coordinating innovative programs, engaging stakeholders, and integrating sustainable practices into school operations. Key Responsibilities Coordinate sustainability initiatives, including energy management, environmental programs, climate resilience, and resource conservation projects. Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of district sustainability programs. Develop and update sustainability policies, procedures, and best practices. Design and deliver educational materials, professional development programs, and presentations for school staff and stakeholders. Identify training needs and develop resources to improve sustainability and climate literacy throughout the organization. Partner with school leaders, government agencies, and community stakeholders to support sustainability initiatives and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Promote a culture of sustainability by identifying strategies that encourage staff and students to embrace environmentally responsible practices. Develop and maintain data collection processes, analyze program results, and prepare reports and visualizations that measure program effectiveness. Conduct research on sustainability trends, funding opportunities, environmental regulations, and emerging best practices. Monitor proposed legislation affecting sustainability initiatives and assist in preparing fiscal impact analyses when required. Qualifications Experience developing and implementing sustainability or environmental stewardship programs. Experience developing training materials and delivering presentations to diverse audiences. Strong analytical skills with experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting data. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Sustainability, Natural Resources, Public Administration, or a related field. Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience managing sustainability, environmental stewardship, energy management, climate resilience, or related programs.
