Role Overview
- Conduct evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations using a blend of standardized assessments and observational methodologies.
- Create tailored treatment strategies aimed at addressing short-term objectives while considering long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy, emphasizing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and caregivers, to ensure a seamless care journey.
- Provide education to patients and families, empowering them to support progress outside of clinical interactions.
- Occasionally perform inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, reinforcing continuity of care throughout each patient's path to improvement.
- Maintain precise and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational protocols.
- Engage in ongoing education to stay at the forefront of advancements in the field.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods across all age groups, with robust knowledge of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills to effectively connect with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Capability to adapt therapeutic approaches for diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical decision-making and analytical skills.
- Ability to navigate electronic medical records and comply with documentation standards.
