This position serves in a pivotal leadership role in the community, working with the highest-level executives in the Denver area, and is responsible for staffing the volunteer Board of Directors and encouraging volunteer engagement and development.This is an office-based position with a hybrid schedule in a fast-paced environment, with the primary responsibility of driving revenue to support our mission.The role provides strategic direction and management to a committed group of fundraisers and support staff. It holds overall responsibility for the revenue goals of our Heart Ball, Heart Challenge, and Go Red for Women campaign. As part of encouraging an engaged community, the Executive Director will participate in community and corporate functions that enable networking and the generation of new contacts to support the Association's mission and fundraising efforts.The Association offers many resources to help you maintain work-life harmonization through your changing needs and life situations. Be Valued at the American Heart Association.ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:Ability to accomplish results through strong volunteer recruitment and management.Achieve revenue/fundraising goals and hold staff and volunteers accountable.Secure corporate donations through participating in and leading top-level sponsorship asks.Cultivate major donors, securing large corporate sponsorships (of $100,000 or more), and identifying and securing foundation gifts.Collaborative approach when working with other internal partners, such as our Health Strategies and Youth Market Teams, to help drive specific cause initiatives in defined markets.QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent experience.5 years of successful experience in non-profit fundraising, volunteer management, or similar experience.5 years of managerial experience, ideally with a sales team or fundraising team in a similar organization.Direct knowledge of special event campaign fundraising tactics.Experience recruiting, engaging, and activating executive-level corporate and medical volunteersDemonstrated track record in building effective teams of staff and volunteers, and in setting and achieving aggressive goals on a sustained basis.Ability to influence others to action through creating a shared vision and sense of ownership and personal accountability.Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including large and small group presentations, group facilitation, and training. Skill in written communications, to include clear and concise narrative reports, evaluations, and similar narrative pieces.Ability to read, comprehend, and analyze revenue metrics, as well as fundraising reports. Skill in the use of spreadsheet/database analysis.The ability to travel locally daily requires access to reliable transportation at all times, on an immediate basis.Basic knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office used for word processing, email, presentations, and spreadsheets.Compensation & BenefitsThe American Heart Association invests in its people. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply. The American Heart Association reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. Our goal is to ensure you have a competitive base salary.
