Athletic Director

The Athletic Director provides leadership and oversight of the school's athletic programs, ensuring that all athletic activities support the mission of Mater Academy Charter Middle/High School. The Athletic Director is responsible for the administration, supervision, compliance, and promotion of interscholastic athletics while fostering student achievement, sportsmanship, and school pride. Job Requirements Oversee and manage all athletic programs, activities, and events. Ensure compliance with state athletic association rules, district policies, and school procedures. Monitor student‑athlete eligibility, including academic, residency, attendance, and participation requirements. Verify completion and maintenance of required athletic documentation, including physicals and consent forms. Hire, supervise, support, and evaluate coaches and athletic staff. Ensure coaches maintain required certifications and training. Develop and manage the athletic department budget and inventory. Coordinate athletic schedules, transportation, facilities, and game operations. Promote student‑athlete safety and implement emergency and risk‑management procedures. Ensure compliance with Title IX and equity requirements. Maintain accurate records and submit required reports to governing agencies. Investigate and address potential compliance issues or athletic rule violations. Foster sportsmanship, character development, and academic success among student‑athletes. Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, officials, and community stakeholders. Represent the school at athletic association, district, and conference meetings. Coordinate fundraising activities, sponsorships, and community partnerships to support athletic programs.
