Summary Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, El Centro Sector, Mission Readiness Operations, located in Imperial, CA. Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above. Learn more about this agency Duties Help In this Mission Support Specialist (Logistics) role, you will become a key team member of Homeland Security individuals involved in performing a variety of logistics, administrative, analytical duties and special assignments related to the missions and functions of the Mission Readiness Operations. This position starts at a salary of $87,061.00 (GS-11, Step 1) to $113,185.00 (GS-11, Step 10). The Mission Support Specialist (Logistics) provides technical expertise and guidance to perform a variety of services as it relates to logistics, supplies, fleet and facility management. Duties and responsibilities include:
- Managing property management program; conducting inventories and record management; reviewing and processing lost, stolen, destroyed or missing property.
- Researching supplies and working with requests to procure goods/services; executing purchases, conducting reconciliation, and maintaining necessary documents; conducting various duties within the agency's fleet management program.
- Conducting records management and producing various fleet reports; conducting various activities within the agency's fleet card program; arranging for purchase and delivery of various vehicle parts and services.
- Coordinating facility repairs and ensuring facility repair requests are recorded in the facilities management system; processing various environmental, security, and safety inspections and tracking assessment findings.

- Assisting with or conducting the inventory of agency property; providing logistical technical assistance and support services to management; assisting with or identifying facility needs and repairs; monitoring progress of projects.
- Paying invoices in a timely manner, reconciling invoices and resolving issues as needed; verifying the accuracy and completeness of information.
- Assisting with the development of briefings, presentations and other materials for supervisors; providing written and oral reports with recommendations on policies, projects or studies.
- Briefing management on various budget issues; recommending resolutions to budgetary issues.
- Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and
- Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 08/03/2026.
- Working for the U.S. Government as a federal civilian or as a member of the military
- A dependent who was authorized to accompany a federal civilian or member of the military who was working for the U.S. government
- Participation in a study abroad program sponsored by a U.S. affiliated college or university
- Working as a contractor, intern, consultant or volunteer supporting the U.S. government
