We are seeking a proactive and skilled 2nd Shift Maintenance Lead to direct and execute maintenance operations at our Vernon, CA facility, which primarily produces Costco’s Chocolate Chip Cookies and Churros. This role requires proven hands-on technical ability combined with strong leadership skills to maintain maximum operational efficiency and strict compliance with food safety standards. The ideal candidate must possess prior experience in a food manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support maintenance technicians during daily operations and equipment repairs.
• Coordinate with production supervisors to effectively prioritize repairs and minimize disruptions to the production line.
• Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on production machinery.
• Install and maintain motors, sensors, drives, conveyors, gearboxes, and automated equipment.
• Ensure all equipment operates within OSHA, food safety (GMP, HACCP), and company standards.
• Train and mentor junior technicians on troubleshooting procedures and safety practices.
• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and work orders using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as UpKeep or SAP.
• Assist in equipment upgrades , installations, and continuous improvement projects.
• The work schedule is typically 3rd shift (9:00 PM to 5:30 AM or 9:00 PM to 6:30 AM) and may consist of both weekday and weekend work, with overtime requirements contingent on business needs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Mandatory experience in a food manufacturing environment .
• Minimum 3 years of electro-mechanical technician (EMT) experience.
• Proven  leadership and team coordination experience in an industrial environment.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a must, as communication and troubleshooting with operators will be required in Spanish.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, 3-phase systems, VFDs, and industrial controls.
• Strong understanding of food safety practices (GMP, HACCP, SQF, etc.).
• High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational certification or Associate's degree preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience leading lean manufacturing improvement initiatives.
• Familiarity with Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs.
• OSHA safety training or certification.
• Experience with equipment that requires temperature control (hot and cold) maintenance, such as chillers, vacuums, and industrial ovens
