Business Analyst

Job Title: Business Analyst Duration: 30 Months Location: Albany, NY 12210 (Hybrid) Position Type: Contract Interview Type: In-Person Scope of Project The New York State Information Technology Services (ITS) is seeking an Expert Business Analyst to develop and maintain business requirements, test plans, and test cases while performing functional and regression testing on business applications. The selected consultant will also support production applications, analyze business processes, create documentation, and collaborate with stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle. Responsibilities Analyze system documentation and system artifacts to develop an understanding of associated business processes. Elicit business system requirements by analyzing current processes, interviewing users, conducting workshops, reviewing existing documentation, and evaluating system artifacts. Document and analyze current ("as-is") and future ("to-be") business processes. Develop and maintain business requirements documents, context diagrams, process flow diagrams, data dictionaries, and use cases. Develop and maintain detailed test plans and test cases. Develop and maintain user acceptance testing (UAT) plans and help desk support guides. Develop detailed functional and system test cases from documented business requirements. Map business requirements to test cases to ensure complete test coverage. Develop and contribute to regression testing and user acceptance testing activities. Execute functional, system, and regression testing. Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Identify, document, and track application defects through resolution and perform retesting. Identify deficiencies or ambiguities in system documentation discovered during testing. Respond to and resolve production incident tickets submitted by business users. Support production business applications and provide functional analysis. Required Skills 84+ months of experience eliciting business requirements from business users and system artifacts. 84+ months of experience developing business requirements documentation, use cases, process flows, screen mock-ups, and data dictionaries. 84+ months of experience creating test plans, test cases, and executing functional, system, and regression testing. 84+ months of experience identifying, documenting, tracking, and retesting application defects. 24+ months of experience supporting Criminal Justice related systems, including one or more of: Statistical Reporting Disposition Processing Criminal History Updating Sex Offender Management Wanted/Missing Persons Tracking Other Law Enforcement Applications Preferred Technical Skills Microsoft Office Suite .NET SQL Server Oracle Java JEE SOA SQL Web Services XML Microsoft Visio Microsoft SharePoint
