Job Description - Manager of Pharmacy Services View phone number on click.appcast.io) Manager of Pharmacy Services Job Number: View phone number on click.appcast.io Location: DMC Harper University Hospital Job Type: Full-time Shift: Days Job Summary Manage the personnel and operational activities of the pharmacy services function for an assigned location. Identify the need for policy development and/or revision, define policies in collaboration with higher level management input, goals and objectives. Oversee or direct the development and/or revision of department procedures/protocols, and approve or seek approvals as appropriate. Develop, monitor, and revise functional processes. Provide input into the development and revision of organizational structure for the function; approve personnel actions such as hires, fires, disciplines, etc. Ensure the timely completion of performance appraisals. Develop current-to-intermediate goals and measures for the department. Measure and assess performance; assist in long‑range goal development. Assist in development of and monitor budget. Monitor activities for and ensure compliance with laws, government regulations, JCAHO requirements, and DMC policies. Implement external and internal audit recommendations. Ensure hospital departments achieve objectives for diversity of their suppliers. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy. Doctor of Pharmacy degree, Master’s degree in pharmacy or business administration, and/or postgraduate residency training and/or additional coursework in business administration preferred. Two to three years progressively more responsible experience as a Staff Pharmacist, including demonstrated leadership ability, preferably in a healthcare setting. Registered Pharmacist and Controlled Substance licensures in the State of Michigan obtained within 3 months of entry into the job.
