Location:

• Sitka, Alaska

Schedule:

• 4x10 hour shifts, 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM
• Includes weekends, holidays, and call coverage

Key Responsibilities:

• Review prescriptions for appropriateness, legality, and potential interactions
• Provide clinical consultations and resolve queries with prescribers before dispensing
• Document clinical activities and interventions thoroughly
• Enter and verify prescriptions using pharmacy software promptly
• Educate patients and confirm medication understanding
• Conduct chart reviews for medication therapy management and prescription refills
• Recommend medication adjustments and communicate with providers
• Offer drug information, consultation, and staff training
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Engage in health promotion and disease prevention efforts
• Assist in pharmacy-run clinics as needed

Qualifications:

• PharmD degree or Bachelor of Pharmacy with 3+ years hospital/ambulatory experience (licensed prior to 2003)
• Active, unrestricted Alaska Pharmacist License required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers
• ASHP pharmacy residency completion preferred
• Candidates must have the Alaska license in hand due to fingerprint processing timelines
