Inventory Specialist

We are seeking an Inventory Specialist to join our team.

Job summary:

The Inventory Specialist position is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels of ancillary products and operational supplies, including hangers, adhesives, flashing, shutters, louvers, packaging materials, labels, and other support items. This role ensures inventory accuracy through routine counting, replenishment requests, receiving, issuing materials, and inventory record maintenance. The Inventory Specialist works closely with production, warehouse, and operations teams to ensure needed supplies are available while minimizing shortages and excess inventory. The Inventory Specialist reports to the Director of Building Materials.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate inventory levels of ancillary products and supplies.

• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts.

• Conduct physical inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.

• Pick and distribute inventory items to designated departments or workstations.

• Receive, verify, and stock incoming inventory shipments.

• Monitor inventory usage trends and request replenishment as needed.

• Record inventory transactions in inventory management systems or spreadsheets.

• Investigate and resolve inventory variances.

• Organize and maintain stockroom and storage areas.

• Ensure inventory items are properly labeled and stored.

• Assist with annual physical inventory counts.

• Communicate low-stock and obsolete inventory concerns to management.

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

• Support transportation and procurement teams with material movement as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

• No minimum experience is required; however, 6 months of manufacturing and assembling experience is preferred.

• Forklift experience needed.

• Working knowledge of basic math.

• Organized and detail-oriented.

• Bilingual is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Ability to climb, bend, lift, and stand for extended periods.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.

Work Environment:

• Lumber yard and active construction job sites.

• Exposure to heavy equipment, moving materials, and outdoor elements.
