Senior Diesel Mechanic – WM WM is hiring a Senior Diesel Mechanic to work in our Lake Charles, LA hauling site. As a Senior Diesel Mechanic you will maintain and repair over 20 million customer trucks and equipment across the United States. Schedule & Hours Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 6:30 pm One Saturday per month Compensation & Benefits Starting salary $33+ per hour depending on experience Tool allowance up to $500 per quarter Boot allowance $150 twice a year Comprehensive healthcare coverage (dental, vision, prescription) Annual Education Assistant Benefit Company‑matched 401(k) Adoption assistance and parent support Job Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment. Estimate time and material costs for vehicle repairs and new parts. Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs). Respond to emergency breakdown calls. Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage and accounting for repair times. Conduct safety checks on vehicles. Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards. Qualifications 4 years of relevant work experience. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Over 18 years of age. Legally eligible to work in the United States. Ability to perform physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations. Successfully complete and pass pre‑employment drug screen and physical. Physical Demands & Environment Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing. Constant standing, walking, and grasping; occasional sitting and balancing.
