Loan Officer - Vacation Relief, AACU Branch Operations

Job Overview Join the American Airlines Credit Union team as we build lasting member relationships by matching member needs to our credit union products, services, and lending solutions. The role requires up to 40% travel and overnight stays and covers Miami, Fort Lauderdale, New York City, Charlotte, and Dallas‑Fort Worth branches. The primary location is Miami International Airport, which may add extra commute time due to parking, shuttle, and security procedures. Responsibilities Process new loan applications, including interviewing members, analyzing credit reports and documentation, and offering the best product to meet member needs. Exercise lending authority to correctly handle all loan requests, including but not limited to consumer loans. Create and promote positive name recognition for the Credit Union. Support or speak publicly at special Credit Union events. Work with branch/department managers and staff to identify and leverage cross‑selling opportunities. Research member inquiries and provide solutions as required in a timely manner. Maintain awareness of all branch functions and duties to ensure proper support and coverage is provided at all times. Implement and enforce internal control and security measures in accordance with Credit Union policies and government regulations. Foster a culture that promotes teamwork, service excellence and relationship building. Handle responsibilities of a Member Services Representative as needed. Perform notary services as required. Travel to various branch locations nationally to provide coverage. May work a rotating Saturday schedule depending on job location. Perform other duties as assigned. Ensure the security and confidentiality of all account and related information, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Must be able to work in‑person at the assigned branch location. Must have a strong working background in a financial institution with relevant consumer loan processing or underwriting experience within the last twelve months. Job level to be determined by the candidate's skills, qualifications and experience. Comfortable with travel and overnight stay. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, a related area, or equivalent financial services experience, or a combination of education and experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfactorily perform the essential job functions. Experience in a lending and sales‑culture environment. Skills, Licenses & Certifications Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable. Excellent member service skills. Ability to perform in a sales‑culture environment with a desire to cross‑sell Credit Union products and services. Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment, handle multiple tasks, and function as part of a team. Professional interaction with all employees and members. English language proficiency; Spanish is a plus. Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. Basic math and data analysis skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Effective prioritization and deadline management. Capacity to sit and/or stand for extended periods. Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Ability to travel overnight. Maintain satisfactory performance and attendance. Pass applicable American Airlines and Credit Union pre‑hire compliance checks.
