Government and Public Sector - Assurance - Tech Risk - Senior Location: McLean Other locations: Anywhere in Region Requisition ID: 1714525 Our Government & Public Sector practice helps federal, state, local, and education clients implement change and achieve mission outcomes through consulting, audit, and assurance services. This role focuses on technology risk for U.S. federal agencies, addressing performance, audit readiness, financial management, and IT security. Your Key Responsibilities As a member of the Technology Risk (IT Audit) team, you will deliver quality client services on financial statement audits, attestation engagements, and IT control projects. Responsibilities include: Conduct research and test IT general and application controls. Prepare for and lead client meetings, establishing relationships with client personnel. Deepen sector and client knowledge through ongoing learning. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a closely related field. Must be able to obtain a federal security clearance. 2+ years of relevant experience in information assurance, information security, risk management, IT and application controls, and related standards and technologies. Experience with audit/control testing engagements such as DOD FIAR, SSAE‑18, NIST RMF, FISMA, and comparable federal standards. Understanding of IT technical security controls, NIST 800 series, DOD STIGs, FIPS guidance, and federal audit methodologies. Experience completing control testing over financial system, application, and information assurance controls. Travel flexibility: up to approximately 30% for federal projects and up to 80% for state, local, and education practice projects. Preferred Experience and Certifications Experience working on large, complex engagements within the Government and Public Sector. Background in a Big Four, global management consulting firm, or blue‑chip company with a government focus. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and collaboration skills. Excellent verbal and written communication. Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
