Position Overview

A women's hospital in Arlington, Texas is seeking experienced Travel Registered Nurses for a Rapid Response role supporting Labor & Delivery and OB Emergency Department patients

This assignment is ideal for experienced OB/L&D nurses who are comfortable caring for high-risk, high-volume obstetric patients , responding to changing clinical situations, and working as part of a busy, collaborative women's services team.

The unit provides comprehensive high-risk OB care and operates with a 2:1 patient ratio

• Floating may occur within Women's Services, including Postpartum and Antepartum

Clinical Environment

The Labor & Delivery/OBED unit provides care for high-risk obstetric patients and supports a variety of complex clinical situations.

Common clinical responsibilities and procedures may include:

• High-risk OB care
• Labor and delivery nursing
• OB emergency care
• Magnesium sulfate infusions
• Insulin infusions
• Intermediate fetal monitoring
• Circulating and scrubbing for procedures
• Rapid assessment and intervention for changing maternal/fetal conditions
• Collaboration with physicians and the multidisciplinary women's services team

The unit uses CPN/Meditech for electronic documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to high-risk obstetric patients
• Rapidly assess maternal and fetal conditions and identify changes requiring intervention
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret findings within scope of practice
• Administer and monitor medications and high-risk infusions
• Assist with labor, delivery, and OB procedures
• Support emergency and rapidly changing clinical situations
• Collaborate with physicians, CNCs, CSTs, and other members of the care team
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR
• Follow established patient-safety and clinical protocols
• Float within Women's Services as needed

Qualifications

Required:

• Active RN license
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience in high-risk OB/L&D
• Recent high-risk Labor & Delivery experience
• NRP – Intermediate
• Intermediate fetal monitoring experience
• BLS
• ACLS
• AWHONN
• All required certifications must be included in the submission packet

Preferred:

• OBED experience
• High-risk/high-volume OB experience
• Experience with magnesium and insulin drips
• Circulating and/or scrubbing experience
• Experience caring for complex maternal/fetal patients

The ideal nurse is a team player who enjoys staying busy and is comfortable making timely clinical decisions in a high-acuity women's health environment.

This role is particularly well suited for an experienced OB/L&D traveler who enjoys high-risk patients, rapid clinical changes, and a fast-paced unit
