Labor & Employment Counsel

Labor and Employment Counsel | Los Angeles, CA | $280,000-$305,000

A national law firm is seeking an experienced Labor and Employment attorney to join its Los Angeles office.

This opportunity offers a sophisticated management-side employment practice with a mix of litigation, counseling, and strategic client advisory work. The successful candidate will work directly with employers on high-exposure employment matters and serve as a trusted legal advisor on workplace issues.

Responsibilities

• Defend employers in single-plaintiff employment litigation matters
• Handle claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour issues, and reasonable accommodation
• Manage PAGA and class action matters
• Take and defend depositions, including plaintiffs and corporate representatives
• Draft and argue dispositive motions and discovery motions
• Manage cases from inception through resolution independently
• Provide day-to-day employment counseling on federal and California employment laws
• Advise clients on compliance, risk management, workplace investigations, and personnel decisions
• Work directly with business leaders, human resources professionals, and in-house counsel

Requirements

• Significant labor and employment law experience
• Strong background in employment litigation defense
• Experience handling wage and hour matters
• Experience with PAGA claims
• Experience with class actions
• Experience conducting and defending depositions
• Strong motion practice experience
• Employment counseling experience
• Excellent research, writing, and advocacy skills
• Active California Bar admission
