Mechanical Engineer Designer
Location: Mossville IL – onsite
Duration: 12 Months
Rate: $60/hr on C2C
Mechanical design engineer working on electric motors. The individual will be working with a larger team to design/develop new motors. Exceptional candidates will have experience with CFD and FEA on drivetrain components.
Position's Contributions To Work Group
- Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines and other mechanical devices.
- Implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.

- Electrification is a growing interest in the off-highway market. Caterpillar is working toward solutions and this motor group is at the front of the design activity for those solutions.

Work environment: Fast paced.
Education & Experience Required
- Years of experience: 3+ years of experience required.
- 5-10 years of experience preferred.
- Degree requirement: Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering.

Additional Technical Skills
- Advanced ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.
- Advanced ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.
- Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).

- Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Team player and detail oriented.
- Displays attributes of a critical thinker and leverages innovative ideas.
