GMS Applications Developer

Salary: $64,000 - 104,000 per year Requirements:

• Masters or PhD in power systems, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related engineering discipline, with 4–10 years of experience in software development, debugging, and performance tuning.
• Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, and/or FORTRAN.
• Strong knowledge of power system modeling, simulation, analysis, operation, optimization, and numerical analysis methods.
• Experience with analytical tools and methods such as load flow, contingency analysis, state estimation, automatic generation control (AGC), economic dispatch, and power systems simulators is desirable.
• Hands-on experience with Generation Management System applications, such as generation control, network analysis, and operator training simulators, is desirable.
• A theoretical background in numerical analysis, optimization techniques, and power system modeling and operation is a plus; experience prototyping models with optimization toolkits or machine learning and AI tools is also beneficial.
• Demonstrated experience in Agile development, including backlog management, sprint planning, and iterative delivery.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, and to interact effectively with team members, product management, and customers.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present information and gather input from peers, product management, project teams, sales, customers, management, and other stakeholders.

• Design and develop GMS application software to improve system functionality, performance, and integration.
• Work with customer experts to configure applications to meet their requirements.
• Partner with customers to build efficient, robust workflow integrations between SCADA, EMS, and GMS platforms and other IT/OT systems using modern interface and integration technologies.
• Create and carry out test plans and procedures with customers to verify that systems meet contractual requirements.
• Train customers to operate GMS functions and coordinate the resolution of their reported technical issues with our technical team.
• Provide expert support to our proposals and tendering team to help prepare high-quality bids.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
