Director, Industry Engagement – Texas McCombs Department: Red McCombs School of Business Location: UT MAIN CAMPUS Weekly Hours: 40 FLSA Status: Exempt Job Details The Director, Industry Engagement & Strategic Partnerships is a senior individual contributor responsible for developing and advancing high-impact industry partnerships that drive revenue through philanthropy and strategic collaboration. The role reports to the Managing Director and focuses on deepening existing relationships, expanding partnerships and growing revenue over time. Success requires strong relationship management, strategic thinking, and cross‑functional collaboration. Responsibilities Own strategy and growth for a high‑priority industry partner portfolio, focusing on expanding relationships and increasing long‑term revenue. Identify, develop and secure new opportunities within partner organizations, including philanthropic giving and strategic investments. Build multi‑year account plans outlining pathways for deeper engagement, increased investment and expanded collaboration. Lead the evolution of partnerships beyond transactional engagement into multi‑dimensional relationships (philanthropy, executive engagement, research support). Develop and execute integrated revenue strategies with central development and internal stakeholders. Consistently meet or exceed annual revenue and growth goals tied to account expansion and retention. Serve as primary relationship lead for senior‑level stakeholders across partner organizations. Build and sustain trusted, long‑term partnerships that create mutual value. Navigate complex partner organizations to identify stakeholders, champions and decision‑makers. Represent Texas McCombs in high‑level external meetings and strategic conversations. Partner closely with Development, Employer & Corporate Ecosystem, faculty and program teams to deliver partnership opportunities. Translate partner interests into actionable plans and align internal stakeholders to execute effectively. Contribute to broader team strategy, sharing insights on partner priorities and market trends. Lead cross‑functional initiatives, driving progress and accountability without direct authority. Maintain clear account plans, pipeline visibility and revenue forecasting focused on growth and retention. Use CRM tools and data insights to track engagement, identify gaps and inform strategy. Support coordination of key partner‑facing moments (executive engagement, events, recognition opportunities). Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business, education or a related field. 5+ years of experience in fundraising, corporate partnerships, account management or business development with demonstrated success in growing existing client relationships. Proven track record of increasing revenue in established accounts through philanthropic gifts, sponsorships or partnership investments. Strong strategic thinking and ability to identify and unlock growth opportunities within existing partnerships. Experience managing senior‑level relationships across complex organizations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to tailor messaging to varied audiences. Strong organizational and analytical skills, managing multiple priorities and long‑term account strategies. Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office tools and virtual communication platforms. Experience influencing across complex organizations without direct authority. Preferred Qualifications Database management skills with customer relationship management software; experience monitoring and reporting metrics for outreach success. Experience with solicitation and stewardship of corporate and foundation donors. Experience working with senior executives, faculty and students in higher education or industry. 7+ years of experience in fundraising, corporate partnerships, account management or business development. Salary $90,000 + depending on qualifications Working Conditions Standard office environment with regular computer and keyboard use. Some evening and weekend hours required for events and partner engagement. Occasional travel may be required. Position based in Austin, Texas. Legal authorization to work in the United States required; not eligible for visa sponsorship.
