About the Role

The Company is seeking a National Vice President of Agency Underwriting to join their dynamic team. The NVP will be a key support to the SVP of Agency Underwriting, with a primary focus on Escalation Reviews and the management of the Agency Underwriting Scenario Team. This role involves providing solutions and assistance to loan-level escalations, complex scenarios, and ensuring effective communication with the underwriting department. The NVP will also work closely with various teams including Credit Risk, Training, Operations, Processing, Closing, and Quality Control on a range of projects and communication. Candidates for the NVP position should have the ability to underwrite conventional and government loans, maintain and report underwriter bonuses, and provide guidance on complex underwriting scenarios. The role requires the ability to perform second-level reviews, monitor the underwriting pipeline, and ensure productivity and adherence to service level agreements. The ideal candidate will have a direct endorsement status from HUD and/or SAR authority from VA, experience with USDA, and a strong understanding of FHA, VA, and Conventional loan guidelines. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, 5+ years of mortgage underwriting experience, and 3+ years of underwriting management experience are preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of ATR/QM requirements are also desirable.
