Technical Manager Location: Iowa Park, TX Requisition ID: 52542 Relocation: Yes Position Summary The Technical Manager will lead day-to-day operations of Engineering, Maintenance and Facility functions at the Iowa Park, TX facility. Under the Plant Manager, the role drives technical and facility initiatives to deliver profitable growth, integrating Lean and continuous improvement programs. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Develop technical budget plans and implement systems to capture, analyze and share key process indicators. Consult with Plant Manager to build strategic plans, objectives, schedules, risk and resource allocation for process improvement. Provide direction, guidance, mentorship to ensure daily technical support meets goals. Communicate and collaborate with personnel to support global/corporate goals and metrics. Work in cross-functional teams at all levels. Conduct performance reviews to assess competency, knowledge and contributions. Monitor performance and oversee process improvement through tracking mechanisms. Process Engineering Responsibilities Direct multiple concurrent engineering projects and assure objective achievement. Provide process-engineering support to operations and maintenance locally and organization-wide. Define and implement improvements to optimize operations and reduce unit cost. Author test authorizations and conduct plant tests for experimental programs. Manage high-level projects and maintain schedules for major area projects. Analyze test data and lead projects to improve yield using DOE and statistics. Improve data collection for abnormal conditions and root-cause investigation. Lead production teams on projects for capacity, yield, cycle time, and cost. Integrate and standardize Six Sigma and Lean methodology. Review and execute engineering change orders impacting production lines. Facility/Maintenance Responsibilities Prepare and execute design packages to improve plant safety and operability. Ensure building meets health, safety and radiation requirements. Develop progressive facility work plans to optimize equipment. Initiate, implement and manage maintenance program with emphasis on scheduling, reliability and preventive/predictive maintenance. Support development of a Total Productive Maintenance culture. Use SAP PM to track work, spare parts and maintenance history. Track, analyze and improve maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, cost, compliance. Handle spare parts inventory controls and replenishment. Prepare contractor scopes of work. Schedule and monitor heating, ventilation and utility systems. Manage contractor work and supervise operations. Plan and manage plant services such as reception, security, maintenance, cleaning, cafeteria. Plan space and resource allocation for new or reorganized buildings. Implement overall plant cleanliness procedures. Experience Leadership: energize and direct technical initiatives. Teamwork, customer focus, safety focus, communication, project management, coaching, results focus, business judgment, technical guidance. Extensive technical experience: material & process specifications, drawing approvals, test methods, data analysis, capital equipment, team leadership, budgeting. Background in Six Sigma/Lean (DMAIC, 5-S, SMED, TPM). Energy management/sustainability. Education Five or more years manufacturing/engineering experience (plastics preferred). Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical or chemical preferred). Knowledge of printing, extrusion and converting systems (preferred). Other Requirements Independent and team orientation. Business acumen, facilitation, lean understanding, self-management principle. High-volume operations experience. Strong organization, planning, multitasking, ability to work under pressure. Proficiency in MS Office, process mapping, Six Sigma, DOE. Change agent experience; Black Belt preferred. Salary & Benefits Salary Range: $126,600 - $217,005.
