Lead Maintenance Technician

Job Description Purpose : Assists the Maintenance supervisor in daily maintenance activities. Provides direction and training for work to employees in positions of lesser responsibility. Responsibilities Follow all company policies. Adhere to attendance guidelines. Responsible for the safety and quality of work while providing technical direction for day-to-day activities. Oversee and assist in troubleshooting and repair of electrical breakdowns such as PLCs, heat controllers, counters, AC and DC drives, and inverters (including programming). Participate in the design, construction, and installation of new equipment, including electrical components. Train new personnel. Maintain a working knowledge of all plant operating systems and access records of diagrams and schematics. Troubleshoot, repair, and correct mechanical, electrical, and process problems associated with production equipment to ensure proper operation. Provide 24/7 technical support for production. Assemble, disassemble, and convert/upgrade production lines or support equipment as required for repairs, upgrades, and/or installations. Regularly inspect production lines and support equipment and perform necessary preventive maintenance routines (e.g., filter changes, oil changes, water on closed-loop cooling systems). Identify and work with contractors to repair, install, remove, and/or upgrade equipment. Maintain a safe working environment and report unsafe conditions to management. Work overtime as required and participate in a rotating on-call schedule with maintenance staff. Order parts as needed for service. Perform other duties as assigned or requested. Be assigned to rotating plant production shift or day shift as needed to maintain production. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree or certificate in Industrial or Electrical/Electronics Technology or equivalent training of 8 years of experience. Journeyman certification preferred. Ability to read mechanical and electrical and/or engineering blueprints, drawings, and schematics. Ability to handle project work with little supervision. Essential Physical Requirements Regularly sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, kneel, or crawl. Frequently use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, and lift or carry up to 40 pounds. Occasionally exert 50 to 100 pounds of force, frequently 25 to 50 pounds of force, and/or constantly 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects. Benefits Medical, dental, and vision plans.
