Aerospace Manufacturing TechnicianPay: $20.50 - $23.50 per hour Shift Availability: Day or Swing Shift (Additional $1.50 per hour for swing shift) Location: Tacoma, WAJob SummaryGeneral Plastics is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Aerospace Plastics Fabrication Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will fabricate and assemble aerospace plastic products using precision instruments, hand tools, power tools, machinery, and specialized equipment. You will work from blueprints, work orders, and technical documentation to produce high-quality components that meet exact dimensional and finish specifications.This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy hands-on manufacturing work, thrive in a team environment, and take pride in producing precision products used in aerospace and other high-performance industries.Essential Job DutiesFabricate, assemble, cut, and finish aerospace plastic and foam componentsManipulate precision measuring tools including micrometers and calipersUtilize hand tools such as box knives and X-Acto knivesSpray adhesives, coatings, colors, and other materials onto plastic and foam partsCut, deflash, and fabricate rigid and flexible foam productsOperate manufacturing equipment including: Band sawsTable sawsRoutersShapersMixing equipmentRead and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and work ordersInspect finished products to ensure quality and compliance with specificationsMark, package, and prepare products for shipmentFollow all safety procedures and quality standardsCommunicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding production requirementsRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED requiredMinimum of 5 years of manufacturing experiencePrevious experience in manufacturing environments requiredAerospace manufacturing and/or plastics manufacturing experience preferredAbility to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructionsStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityGood communication and teamwork skillsDemonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and work safelyPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand for up to 8 hours per shiftAbility to occasionally lift up to 50 poundsStrong finger dexterity for handling and assembling small, detailed componentsExcellent arm-hand steadiness for precision fabrication tasksAbility to work with or around chemical solvents and manufacturing materialsScheduleThis position requires flexibility to work either:Day ShiftSwing Shift (+$1.50/hour shift differential)Optional overtime opportunities may be available.
