Pinji's Cafe

Job Description

We are a family-owned breakfast and lunch café in Wilmington's Trolley Square neighborhood. We serve fresh, healthy, made-from-scratch food: breakfast bowls, sandwiches on focaccia and wraps, salads and soups, plus smoothies and bubble tea. Our regulars come for the food and stay for the warm, welcoming feel.

We're looking for an all-rounder: someone who's comfortable on the cook line and just as comfortable greeting a regular at the counter. If you like variety in your day and take pride in doing things right, you'll fit in here.

What you'll do

Prep and cook our breakfast and lunch menu to recipe — bowls, sandwiches, salads, soups, and other s specialties
Take orders at the counter, handle payments, and give every customer a friendly, accurate experience
Make smoothies and bubble tea, as needed
Open or close the café when scheduled: setting up stations, restocking, and getting everything ready for the next shift
Keep the kitchen and dining area clean and running smoothly. In a small team, everyone pitches in on cleanup and dishes
Follow food-safety standards (temps, storage, labeling, sanitizing)

What we're looking for

1-2+ years of kitchen or café experience highly preferred, but we'll train the right person
Dependable and on time. This matters to us more than anything.
Friendly with customers and easy to work with
Comfortable switching between the kitchen and the counter when things get busy
Honest and careful handling payments
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Weekend availability

What we offer

$17/hour
Free or discounted meals on shift
Hands-on training in both the kitchen and front of house
A stable, friendly, family-run café where good work gets noticed
Room to grow into more responsibility
