Maintenance Technician

Years of Experience: 3 to 6 years The schedule for this role is Monday through Friday 9am-6pm. Variations in this schedule will be communicated upon hire.

PRIMARY PURPOSE

This position is responsible for using a variety of hand and power tools, fixtures, work instructions to perform a series of operations to correctly assemble and disassemble components.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• This position is responsible for ensuring proper equipment upkeep, maintenance, and breakdown trouble shooting to ensure production requirements while also maintaining building needs.
• Coordinates with supervisors and managers on breakdown repair of equipment. Upgrading of existing equipment by obtaining and presenting facts to Director of Operations for final approval.
• Prioritize and schedule for specific equipment repairs.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance program.
• Assist department supervisors in reconstructing, moving, and installing new equipment according to plan.
• Electrical issues from 24VDC control to 480VAC 3 ph industrial.
• Address safety issues, replace burnt lights, check emergency lighting on a routine basis, lock out tag out program, electrical safety, confined space program.
• Maintain and upkeep grounds outside the building, including snow and ice removal as needed.
• Perform facility maintenance including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
• Keep stock of routine repair parts and shop supplies.
• Monitoring hazardous waste for removal
• Maintenance of chemical storage area
• Cleaning up chemical spills
• Other duties as required.

Work Schedule: 09:00 AM - 06:00 PM [Lunch: 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM]- Variations in this schedule will be communicated upon hire.

EDUCATION

Three years of previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment is required. High school diploma or equivalent with course work in skilled crafts or trades training.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Must be a hands-on person capable of working in a fast paced environment, while handling multiple projects at one time. Must be able to use mechanical tools, electrical test equipment, measuring instruments, and be able to read blueprints. Must have own mechanics tools. May require lifting of up to 100lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work area is normal for a factory environment. The employee is working in a well-lit environment.
