Senior Accountant

Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, you'll play a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial reporting, supporting month-end close activities, analyzing financial performance, and contributing to strategic initiatives across the organization. About our client and position: Direct exposure to executive leadership and decision-makers Opportunity to contribute to automation and process improvement initiatives Stable, growing organization with a collaborative culture Diverse responsibilities that provide strong professional development Excellent opportunity for an accountant looking to grow into a senior-level role Title: Staff – Senior Accountant (depending on experience Location: Westport, CT Potential Compensation: $70,000 to $90,000 Responsibilties: Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance Perform financial analysis and variance reporting to support business decisions Participate in monthly financial reviews and provide insights into operational performance Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed Assist with tax compliance, reporting requirements, and audit requests Help maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 2+ years of progressive accounting experience for Staff level; additional experience preferred for Senior level consideration Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills Exposure to financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close processes Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to communicate financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders CPA, MBA, or other professional certifications are a plus Experience with Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau, Python, Vena, or similar reporting and automation tools is highly desirable #J-18808-Ljbffr Smith Arnold Partners
