Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English, ensuring accurate and effective communication
• Experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter, ideally within a school environment
• Relevant certification(s) as a Sign Language Interpreter
• Strong interpersonal skills, professional demeanor, and ability to work collaboratively with educators, staff, students, and families
• Adaptability in classroom and one-on-one situations, responding to varied student needs and learning environments
• Commitment to confidentiality and sensitivity to the needs of deaf or hard of hearing students

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct interpretation services for students and staff during classroom instruction, meetings, and school activities
• Support teachers and students by facilitating communication to foster academic success and participation
• Assist in adapting materials or classroom delivery to support accessibility
• Collaborate with educators to develop strategies that best support individual student learning plans
• Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and ethical standards in alignment with school policies
• Participate in meetings and professional development, as needed
