Event Coordinator - Law Center

Job Overview Under the supervision of the Executive Director, Capitol Campus Event Management & Scheduling, the Event Coordinator plans and executes mid- and high-level events in support of the university’s mission, providing assistance to other staff members in the OEM for larger, more complex events happening on the Capitol Campus and off‑site locations. The event coordinator creates and manages event budgets, produces timelines, and works with sponsors on all aspects of the program. The event coordinator also manages events including conferences, symposia, faculty events, Capitol Campus events, law reunion, commencement, and a variety of receptions, dinners and special events. Work Interactions This position reports directly to the Executive Director and works closely with other events and scheduling team members, supporting other members as needed. It requires analytical judgment, decision‑making skills, and the ability to prioritize competing demands in a busy event‑planning environment. Requirements and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and 1‑3 years of experience in event planning (required). Preferred: degree in marketing, public relations, communications or a related field. Experience in academic or non‑profit environment preferred; ability to work independently. Ability to interface with the public and maintain confidentiality. Strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Familiarity with EMS, Social Tables, and Cvent is a plus. Work Mode Designation Hybrid: 2 days in office (based on university policy). Pay Range $20.16 – $31.30 per hour.
