Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on department needs. Patient ratios: 1:3 for PCU patients, 1:4-5 for Med-Surg Telemetry patients. Float requirements may apply to units of equivalent or lower acuity. Highlights: 36-bed Oncology Telemetry unit with over 24 beds dedicated to progressive care level of care Patient population includes solid tumor, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology diagnoses High-acuity PCU environment with strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient safety Epic charting system with GE telemetry monitoring, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds 72-hour orientation provided; oncology experience preferred but not required Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, physical therapy, and rapid response teams Requirements: Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year of current PCU experience Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license) Current certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), and NIH Stroke Scale Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only) Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Previous travel nursing experience preferred Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership position) Core Clinical Skills Required: Dysrhythmia interpretation and telemetry monitoring Central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care and management Port access and blood product administration IV starts and heparin protocols Cardiac drip management, PCA pumps, and feeding tube care High-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP, and tracheostomy management ABG interpretation and rapid response team utilization Chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac systems) Preferred Skills: Chemotherapy administration and monitoring experience IV insulin and insulin drip titration Cardiac drip titration and dysrhythmia management Wound care/wound vac experience Arterial line management and phlebotomy Surgical drain management Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers the chance to work in a specialized progressive care oncology environment where you'll care for a diverse patient population with complex medical needs.
