We are growing rapidly and looking for high performers at every level to grow with us.POSITION SUMMARY:The Instructor will lead and supervise water fitness classes at hours and times determined by pool management. Classes will focus on balance and coordination while increasing range of motion, joint flexibility, muscle strength and cardiovascular fitness without causing strain. Instructor should be prepared to offer classes to a variety of age groups.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:Teaching relevant skills, tactics, and techniques to a wide range of athletes, individuals, and groupsModify exercises to accommodate different skill levels, injuries, and physical limitationsMonitoring, evaluating, and enhancing participant performance and needsProviding suitable feedback via positivity, encouragement, example, and motivationDemonstrating an activity clearly by breaking down the task or technique into a sequenceFriendly and courteous with participants and team membersEnsuring a safe environment for all participants to avoid accidents or injuriesImplementing the lesson plans in an accurate, creative, positive, and efficient fashionEnsure proper use and care of pool equipment and teaching aidsReport any maintenance or safety issues to managementAll additional duties assigned by managementMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:At least 2 years of teaching aquatics programs Strong swimming ability and knowledge of different swimming techniquesMust have excellent interpersonal, problem solving and communication skillsMust be a team playerMust be willing to work a flexible schedule, predominately after-school and weekendsCurrent CPR/FIRST AID certifications, or willingness to obtain within a specified periodCurrently or willing to become Red Cross certifiedCurrently Certified as a Water Fitness InstructorMust be at least 18 years of agePassion for sports and athlete developmentWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist highMust be able to move or lift lightweight equipmentPosition requires activity for extended periods of timeWhile performing the duties of the job, the team member may work in outside weather conditionsMinimal duties are performed in direct sunlight. Team member may be exposed to hot, wet, and humid conditions
