Therapist - Physical Therapy Assistant

Job Description

Job Summary:

Supports the delivery of rehabilitative care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist by providing skilled and evidence-based treatment interventions aimed at restoring physical function. Assists in implementing personalized treatment plans to promote patient recovery and independence.

Responsibilities:

• Administer rehabilitative procedures including manual techniques, therapeutic exercises, modalities, ambulation, and assistive device support.
  
• Assess patient progress and communicate findings with supervising Physical Therapist to modify treatment plans accordingly.
  
• Document treatment details, patient responses, and progress notes in compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies.
  
• Provide education, counseling, and guidance to patients, families, and caregivers regarding physical disorders and ongoing therapy.
  
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure coordinated, effective patient care and prepare discharge summaries as appropriate.
  
• Support supervision of students under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of PTA experience required, preferably in LTC or rehab settings.
  
• Active State licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  
• Proven experience utilizing evidence-based practice in rehabilitative therapy.
  
• Strong communication skills with the ability to document and report treatment outcomes accurately.
  
• Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  
• Knowledge of regulatory and clinical documentation requirements.
