Brown Girls Learn Scholarship Fund Empowerment Weekend "Fit for a Cause" The Brown Girls Learn Scholarship Fund (BGLSF) Empowerment Weekend is a multi-day experience designed to celebrate, empower, and invest in young women and young mothers pursuing higher education, career advancement, and personal growth. The weekend brings together community members, supporters, and scholarship advocates through experiences that promote leadership, wellness, mentorship, and educational opportunity. One of the featured events, “Fit for a Cause,” is a high-energy, purpose-driven fitness experience that encourages participants to invest in their physical and mental wellness while supporting scholarship funding for young women from underserved communities. Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities Pre-event roles: outreach and promotion, ticketing support, sponsorship and partnership outreach, social media and marketing assistance, event logistics coordination. During the weekend: guest check-in and registration, participant experience and hospitality, program and workshop support, vendor coordination, raffle and merchandise support, fitness event assistance, event setup and breakdown.
