Southern California Service Manager

Are you a hands-on leader with a passion for keeping operations running smoothly? Turf Star Western is looking for an experienced Service Manager to lead our service department team and deliver an exceptional experience for our customers and their equipment.

What You'll Do

You'll be the driving force behind our service department — managing technicians, shop foremen, service writers, and drivers across multiple locations. From daily stand-ups to long-range planning, your leadership keeps the shop efficient, the customers happy, and the equipment field-ready.

Your key areas of ownership include:

• Leading & developing your team — recruiting, training, certifying, and evaluating technicians while fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement
• Scheduling & workflow — optimizing repair schedules, driver routes, and field tech assignments across all service locations
• Quality control — ensuring every repair and new equipment setup meets Toro PDI standards and leaves the shop right the first time
• Warranty management — overseeing Toro PRW, allied warranty processing, reconciliations, and RGA submissions
• Customer relationships — serving as a trusted point of contact for warranty and repair issues, with on-site visits when needed
• Business performance — tracking labor productivity, profitability, and billing accuracy using SX.e, SWES, and internal reporting tools
• Cross-functional collaboration — partnering with sales on demos, ride-alongs, and customer site visits; supporting company-wide service initiatives

What We're Looking For

• Management experience required
• 5+ years of experience as a service technician
• Prior service management experience strongly preferred
• Specialized training in gas/diesel maintenance and repair
• Strong computer skills; experience with business systems a plus
• A natural leader who communicates clearly, solves problems quickly, and holds high standards
• Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and be on your feet for at least 50% of the workday
• This job is based in the Brea, CA home office.
